The Next Step in Eco-Luxe
These floating, solar-powered villas aim to be a sustainable alternative to the traditional retreat
Days of lounging on a floating villa powered entirely by solar energy may soon be upon us if the latest concept created by Silent-Yachts comes to fruition. Combining the opulence of a remote private villa retreat with the exploratory spirit of a catamaran, the Austrian brand presents a bold new alternative to the traditional 5-star stay, a “Silent-Resort”.
The audacious eco-luxury plan outlines a completely sustainable, fossil fuel-free and fully reversible, pre-engineered island-and-beach property development, fitted with an entire resort-like infrastructure that includes a reception, pool, clubhouse, gym and spa, in addition to timbered beachfront suites. Silent-Resorts supplies everything for the autonomous “land and sea” property that runs off solar grids.

For accommodation, sister company Silent-Yachts is providing a range of opulent electric-powered catamarans (measuring either 18m or 24m) that offer guests the pampering of an island getaway while simultaneously guaranteeing the freedom to sail off and explore seas at a moment’s notice. Each catamaran – more like a mobile villa – contains four suites with private bathrooms and spacious saloons bedecked with chef’s kitchen, terrace, sundeck and plenty more, allowing guests to soak in paradise without harming the environment.
“The new project is aligned with our strategy to deliver a sustainable, completely silent, fossil-free leisure experience to clients”, said Michael Köhler, founder and CEO of Silent-Yachts. “We provide a floating luxury adventure resort, an experience like no other”.

This unique opportunity – conceived with the help of Victor Barrett from TrueDesign Ltd. – centres on living fully in some of the world’s most pristine places, while treading lightly upon the environment and integrating fully with nature. It’s certainly a far-cry from the caravan trips of yore.
