Live music and sumptuous seafood

Chile’s second largest city boasts some of the most exciting culinary options in the country and Restaurant Montealegre, located inside Casa Higueras is chief among them. It is helmed by French-trained chef Antonio Moreno and serves creative fine dining that blends Chilean flavours with an international perspective. Conger, salmon, white fish and tuna fish from Easter Island are to the fore, though the fig lamb is a speciality of the house. Live jazz often provides a musical background.
