White Gold Butchers

Come for the meat, stay for a seat

A recent expansion in ambition for British chef and restaurateur April Bloomfield and her partner, restaurateur Ken Friedman, whose gastropub The Spotted Pig has cemented itself as a go-to in West Village over the years, White Gold Butchers showcases the provenance and talent required for supreme cuts of meat. Half butchers shop, half restaurant, here guests can witness talented butchers (and part-owners) Erika Nakamura and Jocelyn Guest prepare meats for home consumption, and then stroll over to the 38-seat all-day restaurant, which plates a hearty menu featuring the likes of strip steak, anchovy and chicories, or beef heart with carrots and dukka. Best of all, Bloomfield et al enjoy complete oversight on the sourcing and preparation of their meats, leading not only to delightful cuts at White Gold but at all of Bloomfield and Friedman's restaurants in New York.
