Plaza Athénée

Couture pad on Avenue Montaigne

The history and image of the Plaza-Athenée is inextricably entwined with that of the couture houses that line Avenue Montaigne. Outside, red awnings pop like the soles of that most fashionable French shoe brand, inside rooms are dressed up in fabrics good enough to wear, and downstairs the Dior Institut beautifies locals and visitors alike. No wonder this is where Carrie Bradshaw set up camp on her European excursion.
