Beguiling boutique channelling European romance

Built in the 1870s, what is now Mollies was once a convent and boarding house, and the home of Auckland’s first mayor. The facilities are rather more sumptuous today, with bespoke furnishings, contemporary art and an air of faded European romance permeating throughout the villa’s 10 suites. Facilities extend to an on-site spa and fine dining led by seasonal produce, plus a plush lounge in which to relax by the fireside with a cocktail. Situated in the quaint historic suburb of St Mary’s Bay, the hotel is close to several top neighbourhood restaurants, Ponsonby Road and downtown Auckland.
