Mahana Villa

Impressive wine estate turned hotel overlooking the best of the Southern Alps

A leader in sustainable wine making and famed for its Sauvignon Blanc, the Mahana Estate, with its views over snow flecked Mount Arthur, is now a villa peppered with works by leading NZ contemporary artists which can be rented either as a four en suite unit, a two bedroom loft or one bedroom super-suite. The garage contains a yellow T-Bird, a Lotus and a Ferrari for guests to use and the owners can arrange fly fishing, kayaking and even a spot of heli-picnicking. The cellar door restaurant has a revolving cast of visiting chefs though the real pleasure here is simply soaking up the views with a perfectly chilled glass of those exquisite Mahana wines.
