The Santo Mauro is much more than a 19th-century palace. It is an architectural jewel located in the Chamberí neighbourhood, where it is possible to live an experience that fuses the traditions and customs of aristocratic life in Madrid. While this palace retains its original design in terms of structure and shape, its modernist staircase welcomes you into an impressive lobby decorated by renowned international designer Lorenzo del Castillo. Our guests can enjoy a tour of the hotel led by the concierge, who explains the spaces and secrets of the property. After the tour, guests are invited to a signature cocktail, Casilda, made with chestnuts from the tree in the hotel garden. Dine in what was once the library of the Duke of Santo Mauro with original books from his private collection among white table linen, silver cutlery and fine glassware. The hotel’s spacious rooms encourage blissful rest thanks to its 33cm-high king-size mattresses and sheets by Frette. Its walls are decorated with unique original engravings from 18th-century Spain all framed in old gold-leaf frames.
