1. Martin Jetpack. Thirty years in development, the New Zealand firm Martin Aircraft have finally put the Martin Jetpack on the market – whereupon the city of Dubai quickly snagged 20 for first-response purposes. A kind of heli-rucksack, it gives you a real rocket-man feeling. First deliveries roll out in 2017.
2. Lampuga Wave Jet. The Lampuga claims to be the fastest wave-cruiser on the market, allowing riders to race though sunny bays at up to a top speed of 50kph powered by an emission-free electric jet delivering 15HP to the water.
3. DeepFlight Dragon. US firm DeepFlight offers a new class of all-electric personal submarines. Its flagship model, the Super Falcon, can roll with the dolphins or crest out of the water like a whale. The new model Dragon will hit the waters soon.
