On Chase
Nautor’s Swan Shadow delivers a new tender with the swagger of a powerboat
Originally designed to be the magnificent accessory for discerning owners of motor yachts or sailing yachts, Nautor’s Swan's latest chase boat is unexpectedly…dynamic. While the 13m vessel boasts the requisite accoutrements of a typical tender, the Swan Shadow, as it’s called, brings some powerboat swagger to the scene. “We wanted to create something sporty and fun,” says Swan Shadow designer Jarkko Jämsén. Considering the boat tops out at 55 knots, sporty and entertaining is an apt descriptor.

In addition to the speed factor, Swan Shadow's versatility makes it now only a perfect overnight or weekender watercraft but also perfect for zipping through an archipelago for an afternoon. From a design perspective, the exterior mimics that of other Swan racing yachts, and some of the boat’s cooler features include a walkaround deck and swim platform that folds outward, telescoping roof pillars to create a convertible cabin, as well as crew cabin at the bow.
