Shahpura Bagh
Minimal elegance in the country
A working, family-run farm between Jaipur and Udaipur, the former summer home of the municipality’s rulers provides an idyllic countryside haven. There are just nine guest rooms, minimal in style yet furnished with four-post beds, Kashmiri carpets and antique chairs upholstered with silk jacquard. Plus, it recently added a two-bedroom villa that’s right next to the pool. Outside there is much to enjoy. Guests can wander for hours by the estate’s lakes and grounds, which are wonderfully dotted with peepal and mango trees.
