Lalique Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey
Restored elegance in the heart of the vineyards
To mark the 400th anniversary of this magnificent chateau in the lush Sauternes, the Lalique brand takes residence in its refurbished buildings. Some ten guest rooms and three suites fit in with a design ideal that maintains the property’s heritage while adding progressive touches. Flecks of crystal and bright colour are twinned with unique art pieces (Damien Hirst’s Eternal Belief adorns the chapel wall). The vineyard-view restaurant is in safe hands too: Jérôme Schilling, formerly of two-Michelin-starred Villa René Lalique. Add in the 350,000-bottle wine cellar, plus its well-stocked boutique, and the property becomes an oenophile’s dream.
