La Granja Ibiza
Members-only peace in pastoral Ibiza

Proffering a slice of the simple life, this rural community-centric venture by Design Hotels™ sits enshrouded by tiered pine and citrus forest: an isolated farmstead with a 10-guestroom house that serves as the base for the international organisation Friends of a Farmer. Here, slow food and the farm-to-table ethos dictates the pace, with communal farming and workshops leading to mescal rituals, yoga and lectures in social sciences. Rooted to this Iberian island in design, the farmhouse’s weathered rusticity was preserved by Armin Fischer, of Drimeta design studio, whose moulding of La Granja's spaces complements the pre-existing farm structures with characterful touches such as hammered iron doorknobs and burnt woods. A functional farm, the peerless bounty grown at La Granja is nurtured in the Kitchen by chef José Catrimán, who plates authentic Mediterranean dishes – the ideal culinary punctuation between hands-on sessions with master farmer Andy Szymanowicz, overseen by his "all-knowing" pig.
