Jamaica Inn, Ocho Rios

Smart beach hotel boasting time-honoured elegance

Opened in 1950 beside a wonderful white sand beach, Jamaica Inn comes with a pretty Wedgwood blue and white look, old retainer staff and croquet on the lawn. Guests like to dress for dinner and the atmosphere is calm and polite. There are no TVs or clocks in the 48 suites and cottages, but things aren't stuck in the past – you'll also get complimentary Wi-Fi, an oceanfront spa and guests are encouraged to explore this flamboyant island on a wide choice of tours that includes a trip to the market with the hotel chef.
