Bay of Fires Lodge
Taking the notion of remote to new levels
It takes two days, a 23-kilometre hike and an overnight stop at a beach camp to reach this stunning Ken Latona-designed eco-lodge, but it’s worth the effort. Only accessible as part of the four-day Bay of Fires Walk, the lodge is perched 40 metres above an isolated beach. The emphasis is on comfort without all the mod cons – there’s no TV, phone reception or Wi-Fi. Guests spend their days walking, kayaking, swimming, reading on the deck and enjoying the excellent meals and wines.
