Waiheke Island, 35 minutes by ferry from downtown Auckland, lures those who seek sunshine, sandy beaches, fine wine and relaxation. Whitewashed wood, pitched roofs and sandy-toned furnishings evoke a tranquil, design-led take on the great Kiwi bach, or holiday home.
