The Boatshed
Nautical chic on Waiheke Island

Waiheke Island, 35 minutes by ferry from downtown Auckland, lures those who seek sunshine, sandy beaches, fine wine and relaxation. The Boatshed is a blissful, nautical-themed treat, realised by Kiwi designer David Scott and run by his descendants. Whitewashed wood, pitched roofs and sandy-toned furnishings evoke a tranquil, design-led take on the great Kiwi bach, or holiday home. An organic kitchen garden provides much of the produce for delicious seasonal meals, taken alfresco overlooking a small, pretty swimming beach.
