Thorntree River Lodge
A Safari gateway in southern Africa
A short distance upriver from the world-renowned Victoria Falls, set in Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park on the Zambian side of the great Zambezi River, is the Thorntree River Lodge. The lodge, artistically drawing inspiration from local customs and culture, is designed in a way to blend seamlessly with its nautical setting.
The modern contemporary and environmentally conscious design also makes use of authentic African tented-roof structures in a similar vein.
Choose from eight twin rooms, or two family units (with four beds), each with indoor and outdoor bathrooms and private plunge pool. The communal wooden decking floats on the edge of the stunning riverside – maintaining and emphasising the waterway’s connection to the land. Here you can enjoy the finest African cuisine, or the infinity pool.
Nearby, visit the UNESCO World Heritage Victoria Falls, or enjoy rhino trekking on foot or game drives in the national park. Cultural visits to local villages and sunset river cruises on a private boat, fishing and trips to the Livingstone Museum are a mere handful of the other activities possible all year round at the lodge.
