Herzog
Bavarian history and stylish cocktails
Sophisticates seeking classy new evening playground should look no further than Herzog, tucked away behind Munich’s Karlsplatz at Lenbachplatz, where a young and experienced team plates breakfast (house-made pastries) through dinner (a limited, yet delectable array of dishes including such bar staples as Herzog’s potato slices with truffle remoulade and habanero ketchup) in stylish surrounds – a Build Inc.-designed den of cool hanging lighting and reams of brass plating. When the sun sets, the longdrinks, highballs, cocktails and champagne come out, all beneath the gaze of Duke Wilhelm V (whose portrait adorns a wall in the dining space).
