Chagall Museum & Matisse Museum
Important works from two great masters who settled in Nice, featuring both seasonal shows and a permanent collection
On display at the Chagall Museum is a stunning selection of paintings with Old Testament themes, plus an assortment of stained glass and mosaics. Up the road, near Matisse’s former digs at the Hotel Regina, the Matisse Museum is housed in a renovated 17th century villa, and traces the artist’s early works to his line drawings and colorful paper cut outs.
