Florence is undoubtedly the Italian capital of art, but moreso a heavy-hitting world-player in the art of good food. Nowhere is this more visible than the bustling Mercato Centrale. Laid out in the form of a covered piazza, its 3,000 square metres are home to 12 food outlets run by some of Italy’s most prestigious gourmands laying out delightful street foods, wines and other local treats. Highlights include Antico Demanio, with their on-site created buffallo mozzarella, and the fanciful chocolates, fondant and gelato creations of Cioccolateria Bedushi.
