Ritz Paris Le Comptoir
The quintessence of French gourmandise opens at the new Ritz Paris Le Comptoir
Named World’s Best Restaurant Pastry Chef; a Netflix show, Chef in a Truck; and a book, French Pastry at the Ritz Paris (La Martinière/Abrams, 2020) – to say it’s been a crazy couple of years for master pâtissier François Perret would be an understatement. Now, the globally renowned toque has cut the ribbon on yet another endeavour: the Ritz Paris Le Comptoir, lively boutique dedicated to the art of gourmandise. Here, foodies can experience first-hand the mastery of Perret’s marvellous creations, which include a complete redressing of the iconic pain au chocolat, fluffy breads, small sandwiches and, of course, his signature desserts like Proust madeleine, Parisian flan, lemon cheesecake as well as his famous trompe l’oeil marble “cake” (which is, in fact, a cocoa and bourbon-vanilla mousse). With its bright, contemporary décor, Parisians as well as visiting gourmets will find a welcoming space in which to sample the crème de la crème of baked goodies.
