Acquired by hotel group The Set, Lutetia has reopened its doors after four years of renovation and redesign. This Parisian icon, the only grand hotel on the Left Bank, in fashionable Saint-Germain-des-Pres, was originally opened in 1910 by the Boucicaut family. Its design was a daring departure from Art Nouveau to the emerging Art Deco, and it hosted many famous figures, including James Joyce, who is said to have written modernist classic Ulysses at the hotel.

The beautiful redesign, accordingly, is a marrying of old and new, with Art Deco features updated and renewed. Its significantly reduced capacity of 184 accommodations (including 47 suites) allows greatly expanded guest rooms, full of charm and opulence, spread over seven floors.
