Marataba Conservation Camps, South Africa
Become part of the conservation model at this expansive camp in the heart of the Waterberg Mountains

Set on 21,000 hectares of a privately managed section of Marakele National Park, this 15-suite camp follows arguably one of South Africa’s most innovation conservation models, where guests dive into the dirt and actively participate in the ongoing sustainability efforts. To preserve the land’s diverse flora and fauna, travellers to Marataba become ecosystem monitors, in which they can track key species, compile ID kits, document geographical sightings and observe the social behaviours of animals like black and white rhinos throughout the wilderness. Of course, all this is accomplished in the camp’s idyllic confines, where starlit dinners are a nightly event.
