Palatial Surrounds

Palazzo Tornabuoni is an exclusive members-only private residence Club in the heart of Florence, Italy, featuring a range of beautiful private apartments

Sponsored by

Situated on one of Florence’s most aristocratic city centre streets, in the heart of the fashion district, Palazzo Tornabuoni, housed in a historic 15th-century palazzo, was once home to Alessandro de’ Medici, the future Pope Leo XI, and hosted the world’s first documented opera performance (Jacopo Peri’s Dafne, in 1598). Among its artistic highlights are a Baroque fresco cycle by Agostino Ciampelli (1578-1640) depicting the Biblical story of Esther and Ahasuerus, and the marble statue of Diana the Huntress by Gherardo Silvani (1579-1675).

Depending on availability, club memberships can be acquired. Within the club, there are one- and two-bedroom residences, which provide residency rights to a selected number of club residences within the Palazzo (one-bedroom residences start at €490,000), or you can become an individual owner of a private residence. Members own a transferable, willable and sellable proprietary interest in an irreplaceable Renaissance palazzo as well as having the enjoyment of an elegant residence, always there for return visits.

Palazzo Tornabuoni has been restored and modernised with the utmost respect for its historic integrity and grandeur. The interior design by internationally renowned architect Michele Bonan balances contemporary flair with timeless elegance, creating a blend of ancient frescoes, marble floors and stone fireplaces with custom-made furniture, warm modern fabrics, state-of-the art kitchens and bathrooms, and high-tech communication and entertainment facilities.

In the same way that the city served as the epicentre of European culture during the Renaissance, the palazzo is an exclusive gateway to a social and cultural scene that visitors rarely glimpse in Florence. The focal point of life is the Club Lounge, where members gather for a varied programme of cultural events providing the opportunity to learn from experts in their fields on subjects such as art history, economics, fashion and design. Gourmet delights are provided by Michelin-star chef Vito Mollica.

Reviving its 16th-century role as a civic fulcrum, Club Tornabuoni is a diverse global community of successful leaders in industry, avid philanthropists and aesthetes who wish to enjoy a carefree home away from home in Italy.
