Kilic Pasa Hamam
Revamped baths offer a taste of Ottoman relaxation


Though it dates back to the 16th century, the Kilic Ali Pasa Hamami is a relatively new addition to the city’s roster of Turkish baths, opening in 2012 after extensive renovation. Designed by the great Ottoman architect Sinan, it now features a glass entrance dome that streams in light. An onsite boutique also offers a selection of goods and souvenirs representing the hammam culture, such as classic cotton hamam wraps (peştamal).
