Jacob Cohën's spring/summer celebrates the beauty of the Bel Paese

Sponsored by

Since the early 2000s, Jacob Cohën has been honing a winning formula for that perfect pair of all-occasion jeans – that is, denim designed to be worn in both casual and more formal settings. The Veneto, Italy-based label is obsessive when it comes to getting all the details right. Crafted from 50 layers of finest denim sourced from Italy, Japan and beyond, 100 hours of meticulous craftsmanship go into each pair of jeans, which are always beautifully embellished with anything from distinctive buttons (often hand-laquered or adorned with semi-precious stones) to high-concept patches.

While jeans may be its calling card, the fêted brand also offers gracefully tailored truckers, shirts and caps – as well as womenswear and signature fragrances, which, sprayed onto each piece in a finishing touch, adds a magical olfactory dimension to the Jacob Cohën experience.

The marque’s new spring/summer men’s collection is a colourful journey across its homeland, Italy, il bel paese. The seaside region of Liguria – the 16th-century birthplace of the European denim trade – is celebrated in the deep indigo of a pair of super-stretch, stone-washed jeans with an enamelled front button featuring a 3D Genoan lighthouse and a patch showing a romantic, watercolour scene along the Ligurian coast (the same painting also appears on the patches of a svelte pair of blue-jean shorts and white cotton bull jeans). Moving south, an artistic homage to Naples’s Castel dell’Ovo is revealed on the front buttons and jacron in a pair of light-blue power-stretch jeans. Sicily is represented by an enamel button engraved with an image of the island’s famous Porta del Sole, while a painting of Taormina, a seaside idyll on Sicily’s east coast, is shown on the patch of a pair of super-stretch blue jeans.

Next to the butter-soft crewneck T-shirts bearing the same ethereal watercolour paintings depicted in the trouser patches, Jacob Cohën’s new jeans are best paired with beautiful new tops, from a Japanese cotton field jacket to soft linen and denim overshirts, super-light knit jumpers and chic polo shirts – completing a Italo-chic look made to complement that perfect summer, wherever you may be.
