Lusben’s Latest Ready for Launch
Lusben launches M/Y Masquenada, a newly renovated 51m expedition yacht
Following a major, nine-month long refit, Lusben has finally launched Masquenada, a sizeable 51-metre expedition yacht, now owned by fashion mogul and sailing enthusiast Pier Luigi Loro Piana. The remarkable transformation focused on the external profile of the vessel. With the aid of experts from Nauta Design, the boat underwent the removal and extension of the entire stern block and saw the installation of a transformer that doubled the available surface of the beach area, as well as increased the space of the bridge and upper deck area. Further work involved the removal of the deck crane, a tremendous intervention that freed up an area of 200sq m on the main deck.
Coinciding with this overhaul was also a newly adapted exterior décor made by the keen eyes of Loro Piana. This includes the addition of customised freestanding furniture and an outdoor cooking station. Inside the vessel, the owner collaborated with architect Misa Poggi to modify the master cabin, allowing for an uninterrupted panoramic view off the bow, as well as modified ceilings, floors and furnishings. Furthermore, from a technical standpoint, the new Masquenada contains three new Kohler generators and a double soundproofing box to reduce noise and vibrations.
All this intensive updating has resulted in an entirely new superstructure that is set to dominate the seas.
