Centuries of charm in one café

Dating back to an establishment that was up and running as far back as 1717, this café and restaurant definitely deserves to be referred to as an institution. Boasting the largest river-side terrace in the city, it takes its name from the ice breakers that used to keep the Amstel flowing in the winter months. Today, gastropub food with a Dutch twist and a great choice of Benelux beers on tap serve to break the proverbial ice.
