South Africans take their meat very seriously, be it beef, lamb, ostrich or springbok. No one does it all better than chef Giorgo Nava, whose Milanese-style steakhouse Carne on Keerom Street in the heart of the CBD (just opposite his celebrated Italian eatery 95 Keerom) was such a hit that he’s since opened two more outlets, one on Kloof Street and one in the wine-region suburb of Constantia. No matter which one you go to, you can’t go wrong with the spider steak or the Karoo lamb loin.
