Restaurant Savoy
Mid-century Finnish spot for high-end comfort food
With a warm, oblong-shaped modernist interior designed by Finnish design legend Alvar Aalto, the Savoy has been wooing diners with its reassuringly expensive, yet creative, fine dining since 1937. Expect old-style indulgence but without the stuffiness in dishes such as langoustine ravioli with lobster and vegetable ragout followed by grilled sea trout, sauté of new potatoes and chanterelles, smoked roe and sauce Rémoulade. On a clear spring day, the outdoor terrace overlooking Esplanade Park is a strong contender for Helsinki’s ultimate dining spot.
