REM eiland
High sea style dining
A trip to this river “island” is strictly for the adventurous. It's a fair trek to the Houthavens area, which still teeters between industrial wasteland, hip and happening event location and impending gentrification, then a steep climb to the top of the oil rig-type platform. Built to house a pirate radio station in the North Sea in the 1960s, today it serves a less rebellious purpose: to offer excellent food, with a spectacular view across the IJ river.
