Che Fico
A buzzy Jewish-Italian spot on Divisadero Street
This self-styled taverna transports Latin flair to a little corner of California. Right now, there’s a buzz around 46-cover Che Fico, where Eleven Madison Park alum David Nayfeld plates classic Jewish-Italian meals with a San Fran twist. You’ll dine surrounded by Jon de la Cruz’s photogenic space adorned with cushioned banquette seats, floral wall and floor tiles, and rustic ceiling beams. In terms of food, go for the wood-fired pork loin and belly or the pineapple, red onion and fermented-chilli pizza: a lot of the menu is crafted from biodynamic produce grown on the farm of one of David’s co-owners, Matt Brewer.
