Marimekko
Loud and lovely: a fashion store that doesn’t know the meaning of the word ‘subtle’ in its designs
A strong contender for the most colourful indoor space in Finland, Marimekko charms with its huge floral, Pop-Art esque designs, pink and green silk scarves and all manner of other neon intense explosions, made famous 50 years ago when the label was adored by none other than Jackie O. The men’s range has expanded in recent years with a fine array of vertical striped shirts and there’s some nifty accessories too including tote bags and some charming laptop cases- all done out in that signature floral style. It’s loud, it’s brash but it’s all rather captivating.
