Embarking on a safe flight with Etihad

"Have a safe flight” takes on a new meaning with Etihad Airways.

The world-renowned airline is taking extra steps to make sure you’re safe and sound when embarking on your next flight, and they’re doing this through a team of specially trained 'Wellness Ambassadors'.

On hand on every flight, throughout Abu Dhabi Airport, and available online 24/7, the Etihad Wellness Ambassadors are there to answer any questions, share advice and help to ensure that health and hygiene regulations are up to par. The goal here is to keep guests informed throughout the entire Etihad experience and to make their travel easy.

Of course, this also means the flights will work a little differently, too. Since safety is the top priority, Etihad has outfitted all cabins with fresh new seat covers, carpets, and HEPA air filters that capture 99% of airborne microbes. Along your journey, expect to find additional sanitisation measures, including wellness kits that include face mask, gloves and hand gel, in addition to a revamped meal service in line with strict food prep guidelines. Furthermore, while Etihad has reopened some of their airport lounges, expect to find enhanced safety protocols designed specifically to keep you protected.

Perhaps more impressively is that Etihad is embracing these structural changes alongside some additional measures to help make the airline just a little bit greener, such as reducing the use of plastics and carbon-dioxide emissions.

What else do you need to know before boarding? Guests must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test result before flying with Etihad Airways – and the test must be carried out between 48 and 96 hours ahead of your departure time.
