A Timely Collaboration
MR PORTER joins Watches & Wonders to present an immersive new digital watch fair
When Watches & Wonders launched a digital platform for the first time ever last April, it gave the public a unique peek into the world’s most private and prestigious watch event. Now, the esteemed fair has ventured even further into the online landscape, partnering with fashion retailers NET-A-PORTER and MR PORTER for an all-new, all-digital, immersive showcase into the venerable world of Watches & Wonders.
For the next two weeks, MR PORTER is celebrating and presenting a host of new timepieces available from the year’s fair. The specially curated offering welcomes the recent creations across 13 maisons including Cartier, HYT, IWC Schaffhausen, Vacheron Constantin, Piaget, Girard Perregaux, Roger Dubuis, Montblanc and Panerai. MR PORTER will also help usher in a new era of timekeeping with the introduction of two new brands to the event, Ulysse Nardin and Bovet.
While the watches certainly take centre stage, perhaps just as remarkable is MR PORTER’s presentation. Fully embracing the digital landscape, the fashion outlet is committed to providing a fair-like experience, with exclusive EIP (Extremely Important Person) membership guaranteeing extraordinary access to one-of-a-kind virtual events, one-on-one appointments and entry into interactive Instagram Live conversations hosted by NET-A-PORTER and PORTER’s Editor-in-Chief, Sarah Bailey, and MR PORTER’s Senior Watch Editor, Chris Hall. Furthermore, MR PORTER and Watches & Wonders are also launching a new video series in which the brands dissect the new key models – already on tap is an examination of a pair of 1950s-inspired pieces from Jaeger-LeCoultre and Baume & Mercier.
In addition to the MR PORTER collaboration, Watches & Wonders has also joined sister-site NET-A-PORTER and is featuring its own collection of watches from the likes of Cartier, Hermès, IWC Schaffhausen, Piaget and Vacheron Constantin. The show, like everything else this year, is adapting to circumstances – and, thanks to this new collaboration, thriving online like never before.
