The Datai Langkawi
The latest incarnation of an otherworldly jungle paradise

It’s hard not to feel as though you’ve been transported to another planet entirely when ensconced in this recently redeveloped treasure. Planted in ancient thick rainforest at the foot of the breathtaking Mount Mat Cincang, the resort is a true haven offering forward-thinking spa experiences based on Malay Ramuan philosophies. The Holistic Pavilion is the place to check in for Pilates or yoga, while the Nature Centre is a hub of special teas and tranquillity.
The renovations were helmed by en-vogue architect Didier Lefort, who has brought an aptly rustic charm to the accommodations, which resemble high-end treehouses. Completely new is the Datai Estate, a private five-bed lodging with two pools and its own 24-hour butler service.
